3.3 Sound insulation and silencer
With Vitocal 160-A install a silencer in the pipework upstream of the
appliance.
In areas where greater attenuation is required, provide additional
silencers between adjacent living and sleeping accommodation and
toilets.
Irrespective of the building location, according to VDI Directive 2058
the following standard values apply to noise transmission within build-
ings and structure-borne transmission for living areas:
■ day 35 dB (A)
■ night 25 dB (A)
