Crimping a BNC Connector
1. Preparing the coaxial cable
Before the rubber cap can be slipped onto
the end of the cable that is to be crimped,
you first have to lubricate the end of the
cable.
To do this, dip about 10 cm of the coaxial
cable into methylated spirits.
Now slide the rubber cap (with the smaller
diameter first) about 10 cm onto the cable
and the crimping sleeve for about 5 cm.
Now strip the insulation from the end of the coaxial cable using a coax cable
stripper.
