Occasionally, air bubbles (foaming) will develop in the lines when
purging the hydraulic system. This is evident when the rollers do not run
smoothly immediately after purifying the system.
•
In the case of foaming, let the Backhoe sit overnight. This will allow the
bubbles to settle out of the oil.

Purge any air from the hydraulic system. At low speed, push all cylinders in and out entirely
several times.
◼
Slowly increase the PTO speed until it reaches 540 rpm.
Emergency stop procedure

Know your controls and how to stop the tractor and Backhoe in an emergency quickly.
◼
Read the manual provided with the tractor.
4.6 Pre-operation checklist
A pre-operation checklist is provided for the operator. It is essential for both personal safety and
maintaining an excellent mechanical condition that this checklist is followed.
Before operating the Backhoe and each time after that, check off the following:
1.
Ensure the hydraulic oil level is correct. When checking the hydraulic oil level, you must
extend the backhoe to total reach with the bucket rolled back and resting on the ground.
All cylinders are retracted except the boom cylinder.
Never overfill the oil reservoir; otherwise, the oil will force out of the breather cap. There
should be a 1" air space at the top of the tank.

Ensure the gearbox of the hydraulic gear pump is filled with oil.
3.
Ensure the machine is lubricated per the schedule outline in the Maintenance section.
4.
Ensure all guards and shields are in place, secured, and functioning as designed.
After operating for 1 hour:
1.
Torque all fasteners.
1.
Check the condition of all hydraulic components.
2.
Lubricate all grease nipples.
After operating for 10 hours:
1.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 listed above.
2.
Go to the regular servicing and Maintenance schedule defined in the Maintenance section.
