Troubleshooting
Alarm Matrix
Table 6-2 contains alarms that may occur during operation of your EX3000 Anesthesia System and their
possible causes and solutions. If the alarm continues to display after trying the suggested corrective
actions, please contact Vetland or your local dealer.

Anesthetic agent level
in vaporizer is low.
1. Remove the anesthetic agent filler plug.
2. Fill the vaporizer with the appropriate anesthetic
agent.
3. Reinstall the filler plug hand tight.
Apnea
Breath has not been
detected within the
alarm timing
thresholds
Check patient respiration
or
Turn apnea alarm off
or
Adjust breath detection time in system setup menu.
Flow Error
a. Low oxygen supply
Increase oxygen supply pressure to the anesthesia
system. Pressure must be maintained at 50-60 psi.
b. Internal fault
Contact Vetland or your local dealer for service.
High Pressure
Pressure exceeded
the high pressure
threshold setting
1. Verify that the inspiration and expiration valves move
freely.
2. Verify that pop-off valve is partially open.
3. Adjust the high pressure alarm setting.
Continuing Pressure
Pressure did not
return to the baseline
Same as for High Pressure alarm.
ISO/SEVO Agent
High Output
Anesthetic agent
percentage exceeded
the alarm threshold
Adjust the agent percentage alarm threshold or reduce
the anesthetic settings.
Low Battery
a. The anesthesia
system is not
plugged in to a live
AC power supply
Plug in the anesthesia system and supply AC power.
Note:
Full charge takes approximately 16 hours.
b. Battery is failing
Contact Vetland or your local dealer for service to
replace battery.
Note:
Battery should be replaced every three years.
Negative Pressure
System has detected
a negative pressure
1. Verify proper fresh gas flow.
2. Verify that the inspiration and expiration valves move
freely.
Out of Range
Oxygen flow rate and
anesthetic agent
percentage cannot be
maintained
Using the touch screen, reduce oxygen flow rate.
Using the touch screen, reduce anesthetic agent
percentage.
