Preventing System and Facility Damage
x
Immediately contain and clean up spilled anesthetic as recommended in the manufacturer’s
MSDS.
x
Isoflurane is very caustic and may dull the paint finish of the EX3000 if spillage occurs. If spillage
should occur, allow it to evaporate. Do not attempt to wipe it with a cloth.
Vetland
recommends
using a filler attachment to add anesthetic agents.
x
Do not place more than 7 pounds (3.2 kg) on top of the Mayo tray (if installed).
x
Follow all recommended system maintenance procedures specified in
Section 7 – Maintenance
.
x
Make sure the EX3000 is properly secured to the wall of the facility if used as a wall-mounted
system. Inappropriate fasteners may pull out and cause the system to fall to the floor.
x
Make sure electrical and gas supplies are within the required ratings.
Facility Environmental Health
x
Immediately contain and clean up any spilled anesthetic agent as recommended in the
manufacturer’s MSDS.
x
If the system is used in a confined space, ensure that there is adequate ventilation. If volatile
organic compound (VOC) emissions exceed safe limits, facility ventilation systems must be in
operation.
x
Dispose of any hazardous materials and items contaminated with hazardous materials in
accordance with applicable Federal, state, and local statutes and regulations, facility practice, and
practices recommended by the MSDS.
Alarms
The EX 3000 is equipped with audible and visual display alarms that alert the operator to potentially
