Filling the Anesthetic Vaporizers – Funnel Fill
1. Clean any hair or debris from around the filler port with a clean cloth.
2. Place a clean cloth beneath the anesthetic filler port.
3. Remove the filler plug for the appropriate (Isoflurane or Sevoflurane) anesthetic vaporizer filler
port (see Figure 4-2) by turning counterclockwise.
4. Carefully pour the appropriate agent into the filler port using a filler tube or funnel.
WARNING!
Make sure to pour the correct anesthetic into the filler port. Filling with the
incorrect anesthetic agent could cause serious injury or death to the patient.
CAUTION!
If anesthetic agent spills on system surfaces, allow it to evaporate. Rubbing
spilled anesthetic agent with a cloth may damage the system finish.
5. Observe the agent level indicator on the system display. Stop filling when the indicator bar reaches
the top of the indicator (see Figure 4-2).
6. Replace the filler plug and tighten by turning clockwise until hand tight.
