Nextiva S4200 Series User Guide
3. In the SSID (Service Set ID) box, enter the name of the wireless network; it is a
2–32 character string. It must be the same in the S4200 and in the access point.
4. In the WPA Authentication Method list, select the authentication mechanism to
grant access to the wireless data. The available values are:
WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access version 1 in Pre-Shared Key mode, also known as
personal mode)
WPA2-PSK (WPA version 2, also known as 802.11i, in personal mode)
WPA-EAP-TLS (WPA in Enterprise mode with Extensible Authentication Protocol and
Transport Layer Security)
WPA2-EAP-TLS
WPA-EAP-TTLS (MSCHAPv2) (WPA in Enterprise mode with Extensible
Authentication Protocol, Tunneled Transport Layer Security, and the Microsoft
version of the Challenge Handshake Authentication protocol)
WPA2-EAP-TTLS (MSCHAPv2)
WPA-EAP-PEAP (MSCHAPv2) (WPA in Enterprise mode with Protected Extensible
Authentication Protocol, Transport Layer Security, and the Microsoft version of the
Challenge Handshake Authentication protocol)
WPA2-EAP-PEAP (MSCHAPv2)
None—No authentication method
The authentication method must be the same in the S4200 and in the access point.
5. In the Encryption Algorithm list, select the way wireless data is encrypted. The
available values are:
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)—This encryption type is available only when the
WPA authentication method is None.
AES-CCMP (Advanced Encryption Standard-Counter Mode CBC-MAC Protocol)
TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol)
WPA-AUTO-SELECT—The encryption type is automatically chosen.
None—No encryption algorithm.
The encryption algorithm must be the same in the S4200 and in the access point.
6. In the WPA Passphrase box, enter the identifier (from 8 to 63 characters) used to
secure the RF communication between the S4200 and its access point when the
authentication method is any WPA or WPA2 flavor.
For the wireless connection to be secure, do no enter a known name (like a street
name), but instead use a mix of digits and letters. Do not disclose the passphrase. The
connection security is based on the secrecy and uniqueness of the passphrase. It is a
good practice to change the default passphrase during the configuration process.
The passphrase must be the same in the S4200 and in the access point.
7. In the WPA Private Key Passphrase box, enter the case-sensitive identifier (from 0
to 63 characters) used to secure the access to an 802.11 certificate.
8. In the WPA Negotiation Timeout box, enter the maximum time (in seconds) given
for the device to be authenticated.
