Actions, such as starting a study or offloading data, are handled from the ribbon section near the top of the
window. The box below the ribbon holds the information pertaining to the receiver in communication, such
as the battery life remaining and the number of detections received. With acoustic communication, an
additional box is found at the bottom of the window
The Receiver Tab – Acoustic modem
Receiver type
and serial number
The ribbon section contains tasks and advanced
options, including offloading data, firmware upgrades,
recording (initializing), ending communication, locking
and suspending the receiver.
The
Receiver information
specific to this VR4-UWM is
contained in the top half of the
Receiver Tab window.
Modem information
and modem
communication status is contained in the
bottom half of the Receiver Tab.
This is
only visible during modem communication.
Modem Communication
Tuning Options
can be
set as either Automatic or
Advanced.
These settings are
explained in section 3.4.4.
Click
Refresh
to refresh
the receiver information
shown.
Click
Update Range
to
manually request a range
distance between the
surface modem unit and
the receiver. The button
will remain greyed out
until the information has
been collected and
updated.
