Advanced Settings
Advanced settings are enabled if you select a VBrick encoder or a VBStar.
Note that the Portal
Server will attempt to retrieve and autofill the Multicast IP addresses and Port numbers.
You can
modify these fields as necessary.
Control Devices
Control devices let you configure a video source device so that it can be controlled by end
users from the Portal Server user interface. (An example of a video source device is a DVD
or VCR directly connected to a VBrick encoder.) Once configured, a special icon on the
Live
Broadcasts
page indicates you can control the stream using a "virtual" remote control panel
as shown in Figure 7 below. VBrick currently supports DVDs and VCRs from several
different manufacturers as well as the VBrick VBIR remote controller that can be customized
for use with a wide variety of source devices. See Adding User-Defined VBIRs below for
more about VBIRs.
VBrick Model
Select from dropdown. Advanced settings are enabled if you select an
encoder or a VBStar.
Note
The following values are stored in the Portal Server database only. Depending on how
a scheduled event is configured, they may be saved and written back to the VBrick
device after the scheduled event runs.
Multicast IP
Destination multicast IP address.
Video Port
Destination video port.
Audio Port
MPEG-4 devices only. Destination audio port.
CC Port
MPEG-4 devices only. Closed captioning port.
