Positioning Instructions
Paralleling technique: the film or sensor is placed in a film holder which is used to align
the film parallel to the long axis of the teeth.

Bisected angle technique:
the patient holds the film or sensor in place with his / her
finger. The X-ray beam is directed perpendicularly towards an imaginary line, which
bisects the angle between the film plane and the long axis of the tooth.

Position the tube head to the patient using the accepted standard positioning
procedures.
Here are the specific angulations and directions for the tube head to take the best
images possible of a tooth (

).
Position the receptor carefully not to damage the soft tissue of the
patient’s intra-oral area.
