4.
Remove the steel V-belt cover in the rear of the adaptor. Loosen the bolts only by 2-3 turns. Slide the cover forward by app. 1cm,
lower it down and put it aside.
5.
Loosen the plastic butterfly nut on the left side of the adaptor by 2-3 turns.
6.
By pulling forward towards you you will discharge the tensioning pulley of the adaptor drive's V-belt.
7.
Stand in front of the adaptor and push the adaptor towards the multifunctional carrier.
8.
Take the adaptor with both hands at the rear of the chassis. Lift the rear part slightly and slide its grooves in the side walls into
the gap between the rear attachment points and the heads of the M10 bolts. Slightly tighten the bolts on the rear attachment
points.
9.
Prepare both M10x30 bolts with the guide pin from the packaging.
Use only original screws delivered with the carrier and the tools. They have special guiding part that makes
putting of the screw into the thread easier and protects the threads in the frame of the carrier.
10. Take the handle on the plastic cover with one hand and lift the adaptor so its rear part slides into the lower part of the
multifunctional carrier's frame and one of the grooves is aligned with the thread in the front attachment point on the carrier.
11. Insert the bolt into the thread and hand tighten it as much as possible.
12. Now go to the rear part of the
RAPTOR Hydro
multifunctional carrier assembly with the adaptor and tilt it to the normal
position by pulling the handle bars.
13. Insert the second bolt into the thread of the second attachment point.
14. Tighten both bolts in the front attachment points, as well as in the rear, firmly –
low angled ratchet 3/8“ and socket 15 mm.
2.4.2.2 Mounting and tensioning the belt
If you used, prior to attaching the adaptor, the multifunctional carrier for work with a different adaptor, the drive
pulley can be hot.
Always keep the accelerator lever in the STOP position!
15. Reach beneath the engine and slide the V-belt into the groove of the multifunctional carrier groove. Start to attach the V-belt
always on the left side (i.e. tensioning pulley side).
Attaching an new unworn belt into the pulley groove can be difficult. You can use a suitable soft prying bar (plastic
disassembly lever etc.), but never use a metal tool (screwdriver etc.). After short running-in (minutes) further fitting is
usually trouble free.
16. Check visually or by touch the correct fitting of the V-belt into the pulley groove.
17. Press on the plastic butterfly nut and slide the tensioning pulley inside until the nut fits into the groove in the side of the frame
moulding. Slide the pulley back to the end of the groove.
18. Now firmly tighten the plastic butterfly nut.
19. Slide the steel V-belt cover's bayonet grooves on the four bolts in the rear of the machine's frame moulding and tighten the bolts
–
wrench No. 10 or 3/8“ ratchet and 10 mm socket.
2.4.2.3 Removing adaptor
No figures – you can use figures for chapter
1.
Close the fuel supply to the engine – the fuel valve button position
OFF
and set the accelerator lever to the
STOP
position.
2.
Remove the steel V-belt cover in the rear of the adaptor. Loosen the bolts only by 2-3 turns -
wrench no. 10 or 3/8“ ratchet of
10mm socket. Slide the cover forward by app. 1cm, lower it and pull it back beneath the multifunctional carrier. Put it in a safe
place without the risk of damage or loss.
3.
Loosen the plastic butterfly nut on the left side of the adaptor by 2-3 turns.
4.
By pulling forward towards you you will discharge the tensioning pulley of the adaptor drive's V-belt.
5.
Loosen and remove the two M10x30 bolts with pins on the front attachment points and put them in a place without any risk of
loss (e.g. in grass) -
low angled ratchet 3/8“ and socket 15 mm.
6.
Loosen two bolts on the rear attachment points by 2-3 turns -
low angled ratchet 3/8“ and socket 15 mm.
7.
Go to the rear behind the handlebars and tilt the multifunctional carrier down, until the hitch touches the support. The assembly
will "break" in the connection point.
If you are removing the adaptor on asphalt, concrete or other substantially solid ground, we recommend to support the
hinge with e.g. cloth, piece of carton or other suitable soft material. You will prevent any damage of the machine's
surface finish.
8.
Now you can easily remove the V-belt from the drive pulley groove.
9.
Slide the steel V-belt cover's bayonet grooves on the four bolts in the rear of the machine's frame moulding and tighten the bolts
–
wrench No. 10 or 3/8“ ratchet and 10 mm socket.
10. Return the M10x30 bolts with pins back into the front attachment points of the carrier or store them sdafely for later use with the
adaptor.
