Remove Flywheel
Flywheel Nut – Models 290000, 303000, 540000,
610000
1. Prevent the flywheel from turning with Flywheel
Strap Wrench, #
19433
(5) around outer rim of fly-
wheel,

2. Turn the flywheel nut COUNTERCLOCKWISE
(arrow) with a 1/2” breaker bar (4) and a 30 mm
socket to remove.

1. Place Flywheel Holder #

retainer with lugs of flywheel holder engaging
slots on the fan retainer,

NOTE:
If engine is equipped with rewind starter hub
remove starter hub screw first. Then remove
flywheel nut.
2. Turn the flywheel nut COUNTERCLOCKWISE
(arrow) with a 1/2” breaker bar (4) and a 30 mm
socket to remove
NOTE:
Do not remove fan retainer and fan at
this time.

1. Reinstall flywheel nut (2). Turn nut down flush
with top of threads,

2. Install Flywheel Puller #
19203
(1).
3. Tighten puller screws equally until flywheel
loosens.
CAUTION
•
DO NOT strike the flywheel with a hard
object or a metal tool. This could cause the
flywheel to shatter in operation.
•
Use approved flywheel removal tools.
