5.3.2 Viewing Wind Speed and Direction Values
The wind direction and speed values for the wind sites can be viewed in wind flags and in
the sensor site legends.
The direction of the wind flag indicates the wind direction. The bars at the end of the flag
indicate the wind speed in 5
‑
knot increments (about 2.5 meters per second).
To display the sensor site legends over the wind sites, position the mouse on the site
symbol.
Typically the legend shows the identification data, the wind direction value, and the wind
speed value, for example,
WS08: 110/9"
.

5.3.3 Acknowledging Windshear Alerts
The Graphical Windshear Display displays the windshear alerts as blinking alert boxes when
they are issued by the software.
If configured and selected, also an alarm sound is heard. Different sounds may have been
configured for windshear and microburst alerts.
To acknowledge the alert:
1. Click the acknowledging button, typically the
ACK
button.
The blinking and the sound stop, but the alert color remains until the alert situation is over. If
another alert is issued for the same runway, the blinking and the sound start again.
