Adjusting weight transfer
The weight transfer system is usually preset to 30-50 bar. This pressure works well under most
conditions and does not normally require adjustment
.
The pressure can be checked on the manom-
eter on the front of the seed drill, when the machine is unfolded on a level surface.
If the sowing depth is different for the central and wing sections, the position of the three lifting
rams should first be checked and adjusted. If the sowing depth is still different
because of a dif-
ference in load on the three sections, the pressure should be adjusted. The hydraulic pressure in
the weight transfer system can be adjusted as follows:
A
Raise the drill to the topmost position.
B
Open the rear ball valve for the weight transfer accumulator, see Position B.
C
Start to unfold using the hydraulic system until the folding ram is fully extended and thus the
weight transfer ram is halfway in (i.e. C=30 mm) and so that the manometer pressure rises to
around 100 bar.
D
Switch off the tractor.
E
Switch to floating mode so that the manometer pressure sinks. When the desired pressure is
reached, switch over quickly to neutral mode.
F
Close the rear ball valve, see Position A.
G
Check that the weight transfer ram is still halfway in (i.e. C=30 mm). Check the manometer
pressure. Increased manometer pressure gives increased weight on the wing sections.
