Recharging:
Only use the provided power pack to recharge the unit.
The battery of this unit can be recharged either with 230 VAC from
the mains power supply or 12 VDC from a cigarette lighter jack. It is
advisable to keep the battery fully charged at all times. Leaving the
battery on a low charge can shorten its service life. Please note that
the time it takes to recharge the battery depends on the number of
times the unit has been used for jump-starting. Press button (7) to
see whether the battery is flat. The indicator (5) shows the charge
status of the battery. "Green" shows that the battery is adequately
charged.
Recharging the jump-start unit with 230 VAC:
1.
Plug the 230V lead into the adapter (10) and then into a 230 VAC
power outlet.
2.
Allow the jump-start unit to recharge for about 20 hours. Use the
red button (7) to check recharging progress. The charge indicator (5)
shows the charging status of the battery.
3.
This jump-start unit has an automatic cut-off so that you cannot
overcharge the battery. This means that the unit can be left connec-
ted up to a 230 V power outlet.
Recharging the jump-start unit with 12 VDC:
Note: When recharging the jump-start unit in this way, it does not
reach the same voltage level as when recharging with 230 VAC.
1.
Plug the cigarette lighter plug of the unit into the cigarette lighter
jack (10) of the system.
2.
Connect the charging cable plug (cigarette lighter plug) to a 12 V
cigarette lighter socket in your vehicle.
Caution: Avoid explosive gases, flames and sparks. Keep the
area well ventilated while recharging the unit.
Disposing of the battery
When the power unit battery no longer functions, it should
be recycled.
Please contact your local authorities for further information.

19. Stay alert.
Pay attention to what you are doing. Be sensible. Do
not use the jump-start unit when you are tired.
20. Check the jump-start unit for damaged parts.
Before using the jump-start unit, check with particular care any
parts which seem to be damaged to see whether they still function
properly. Check the position and connection of moving parts and
ascertain whether any parts or fixtures are broken; check for any
other conditions which could affect correct operation. Damaged
devices must not be used. Damaged parts must be repaired or repla-
ced by an authorized technician. Do not use the jump-start unit if
one of the switches cannot be switched "on" and "off" properly.
21. Spare parts and accessories.
During maintenance work, only use
identical spare parts. Use of any other parts makes the warranty null
and void.
22. Do not use the jump-start unit when under the influence of alco-
hol or drugs.
Read the warnings on the drug leaflet to check whet-
her your powers of judgement or reflexes are impaired by taking the
drug. If in any doubt, do not use the jump-start unit.
Operation
Comply with the manufacturer's instructions.
Warning: an electric shock can cause death or injury. Do not
touch exposed electric conductors.
DO NOT use Power Station immediately after charging. Let it stand
for at least ten minutes after charging and before restarting.
The jump-start unit has been developed for use in vehicles with
petrol engines of up to 2,500 ccm. You will not need a host vehicle or
230 VAC power supply. You can also use this jump-start unit as a
portable 12 VDC power supply in remote areas or emergencies.
Proceed as follows to jump-start your vehicle:
1.
Make sure that the ignition of your vehicle to be jumpstarted is not
switched on. The parking brake must be activated. Manual transmis-
sion in neutral, automatic transmission set to "P". Connect the red
cable clamp to the positive terminal on the vehicle battery.
2.
Connect the black clamp with a non-moving metal part of the
engine, but not the negative terminal of the battery.
3.
Set the safety switch (4) to "on".
4.
Switch the vehicle or boat ignition to on. Wait for one or two
minutes. Turn the ignition key to the start position for no more than
5 seconds. If the engine does not start, wait for at least another
3 minutes before trying again.
Warning: When connecting and removing the jump-start cable
leads, make sure that they are not in contact with any rotating
parts of the engine.
Caution: Never allow the red and black terminals to touch each
other or another conductor.
5.
Set the safety switch (4) to "off".
6.
Once the engine is running, disconnect the black clamp first and
put the lead back in its storage position in the jump-start unit.
7.
Disconnect the red clamp and put the lead back in its storage
position in the jump-start unit.
8.
Recharge your jump-start unit again as soon as possible.
Using the jump-start unit as power supply for other appliances
(lights, radios, etc.):
1.
Lift the cover on the cigarette lighter jack (8)
2.
Put the cigarette lighter plug of the appliance into the cigarette
lighter jack (8) of the jump-start unit.
Warning:
As long as the jump-start unit is not being used to start
an engine, the safety switch on the front of the unit should
always be set to OFF. In this position, the safety switch prevents any
electric shock from the red and black clamps. Always keep the
jump-start unit in a dry, safe place, out of reach of children.
Do not use while travelling.
