Solution
The following steps can be used to clean up the COM port entries in Windows:
1. Unplug all FTDI devices.
2. In the Windows device manager, tag ”show hidden devices”.
3. Delete the COM ports, but keep the driver.
4. Re-connect one FTDI device after the other.

Problem
The windows computer cannot identify the SQM-LU-DL-V, and re-installing the FTDI device
drivers does not help.
Cause
The Windows FTDI driver installation may be storing old attempts at installing drivers that should
have been cleared out.
Solution
The following steps can be used to clean up the FTDI entries in Windows:
1. Install this FTDI “CDM Uninstaller” utility at:
www.ftdichip.com/Support/Utilities/CDMUninstaller v1.4.zip
2. The detailed instructions for its operation are here:

3. Here is a quick summary of the instructions:
4. Start up the CDM uninstaller program
5. Press - Add
6. Press - Remove devices
7. Wait 5 minutes or so until complete
8. Close
9. Re-insert SQM-LU device
10. Wait 5 minutes or so for Windows to install driver and port
