LCD display
Meaning of the
display
Description
Display test:
Indication of all
display elements
Switch the unit on with the
O/I button and all display
segments are shown for 2
seconds.
Memory
The value of the last measure-
ment appears automatically for
about 2 seconds.
Ready
The unit is ready for measure-
ment and the °C or the °F
symbol, as the case may be,
flashes.
Measuring
process com-
pleted
The measured value appears
on the LCD display with
illuminating °C or °F symbol,
as the case may be. The
flashing temperature symbol
indicates readiness for the next
measurement. Additionally, the
background is illuminated for
about 5 seconds.
Indication of
a temperature
outside the ear
The symbol of a crossed out
ear appears on the
LCD display if the measured
value is outside the tempera-
ture range of 32.0 to 42.2°C
(89.6 to 108°F).
Battery change
When the unit is activated,
the battery symbol appears
continuously. Measurement is
no longer possible, the battery
must be changed.
