OWNERS MANUAL

WARNING!

The stick welder may be dangerous

GUARD YOURSELF AND OTHER PEOPLE FROM POSSIBLE SERIOUS

ACCIDENTES.  KEEP CHILDREN AWAY FROM THE WORK PLACE.  KEEP

PEOPLE WITH A PACEMAKER AWAY FROM THE WORK AREA.

In welding, as in the majority of jobs, there is some risk involved.  Welding

is safe when caution is exercised.  The following safety measures are only

a summary of all the information disclosed in the safety standards.  It is

important to read and follow the safety rules.

REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE IN THE WELDING PRODUCTS SHALL

ALLWAYS BE CARRIED OUT IN A TRUPER® AUTHORICED SERVICE

CENTER

ELECTRIC SHOCK

 may cause death

Touching “live” electric parts may cause a total shock or severe

burns.  The circuit formed by the electrode and the ground clamp

are powered “live” when the welder is ON.

WARNING:

Risk of electric shock. An electric shock coming from

the welder electrode may cause death. Do not weld when raining or

snowing. Do not touch the electrode with bare hands. Do not wear

wet or damaged gloves. Personal protection against electric shock:

insulate from the work piece. Do not open the equipment enclosure.

Do not weld drums or any other closed container.

WARNING:

Arc generated risks. Arc radiation may burn your eyes

and damage the skin. Wear helmet and protection goggles. Use ear

protection. Wear protection clothes to protect the skin up to your

neck. Always use full body protection.

WARNING:

Risk induced by electro-magnetic fields. When welding,

the current produces electro-magnetic fields. Do not use the power

source if having medical implants. Never roll soldering cables around

the waist. Join and set parallel the two soldering cables so that the

fields will counteract in each other.

WARNING:

Do not use the welder power source to de-ice pipes.

The primary connection circuit connected to the welder and its parts, are

also electrically “live” when the welder is ON. In automatic and

semi-automatic welding processes the micro-wire, the rods housing and

all the metallic parts touching the micro-wire are electrically “live” or

energized.  An incorrect installation or grounded incorrectly may present

risks. Follow these recommendations:

1.    Do not touch the electrically “live” (energized) parts.

2.    Wear always dry clothes, gloves in good repair and adequate safety

equipment.

3.    Insulate yourself from the work piece and ground, standing in insulated

and dry mats.

4.    Disconnect the welder or stop the motor before installing or carrying

out maintenance.

5.  Install and ground the welder correctly following these instructions

manual or following the national, state or local codes.

6.    Turn OFF the equipment when not in use.

7.    Never use broken, damaged or badly spliced cables or a not

recommended gauge.

8.    Do not put cables around your body.

9.    The wok piece shall be properly grounded.

10.   Do not touch the electrode while in contact with ground.

11.   If the welder has damaged parts take it to a Truper® Authorized Service

Center to replace or repair immediately before using the welder again.

12.  When working in levels above ground wear a safety harness to prevent

falls.

13.   Keep the welder covers in place and screw them correctly.

THE ELECTRIC ARC RADIATIONS may burn eyes and skin.  The NOISE

may damage the sense of hearing.

Radiations emanated from the welding process produce intense

heat and the strong ultraviolet rays may burn your eyes and skin.

Noise in some processes may damage the sense of hearing.

Follow these recommendations:

1.   Wear welding helmet with the shade glass adequate to the

type of weldingprocess.  This will protect your face and eyes

while welding or observing some type of job.

2.    Wear safety glasses with the shade number adequate to the welding

process.

3.    Protect third parties from sparks and flares from the arc. Limit your

work space with shades or curtains suited for welding processes.

4.    Wear sturdy and flame-resistant clothes (wool and leather) as well as

industrial use shoes.

5.   Wear hearing protectors if the noise level is too high.

TO PREVENT HEALTH HAZARDS

WARNING:

Vapors and gases produced while doing welding jobs are

dangerous to your health. Work in well ventilated places or with

adequate ventilation systems.

WARNING:

Do not breath smoke or gas come out from the welding

process. Keep your head away from the fumes.

WARNING:

If ventilation is poor use an adequate autonomous

breathing device. The protection gases generated during the welding

job may displace air and cause fatal accidents.

WARNING:

Do not operate the welder close to degreasing substances,

cleaner or spray cans.  Heat and radiation in the welding process may

react with the vapors and create toxic gases.

WARNING:

Avoid welding metals covered with lead, zinc or cadmium.

These materials generate toxic gases. Otherwise, remove the covering

from the welding are.  double check the area is well ventilated or use

an adequate autonomous breathing device.

TO PREVENT FIRE

CAUTION:

Always have handy a fire extinguisher

in good working conditions.

WARNING:

There shall not be flammable or explosive materials in the

work area (not closer than 36 feets). Do not carry out welding jobs in

places where sparks may reach or fall onto flammable or explosive

materials.

Sparks, hot metal, slag from the weld, the work piece and the hot parts

in the equipment may cause fire or burns.  The accidental contact from

the electrode, the micro-wire with metallic objects may cause sparks,

overheating and fire. Follow these recommendations:

1.    Protect yourself and third parties from sparks and hot metal.

2.    Do not weld where sparks could reach flammable or explosive materials.

3.    All the flammable materials shall be put at least 433” away from the welding

area.  If is not possible to put the away, protect them with adequate covering.

4.    Tables and working benches shall be made with small slots to enable sparks

and hot materials coming out of the soldering, to easily flow away.

5.   Always keep handy a fire extinguisher in good working conditions in case

of an emergency.

6.   Do not weld in closed containers like tanks or gasoline drums, oil, etc.

7.   Connect the ground clamp to the work piece as close as possible to the

soldering zone to prevent the current to flow long distances resulting in

contact with foreign materials and cause an electric shock.

8.    Do not use the welder to de-ice frozen pipes.

9.    Remove the electrode holder or cut the micro-wire from the contact rod

when not in use.

10.  Wear clothes made of natural materials: gloves, bibs, leather leggings and

helmet
