3-5.4 Final Piping Check
After connecting the piping to the pump
1.
Rotate shaft several times by hand to be sure that there is no binding and all parts are free.
2.
Check alignment, per the alignment procedure outlined in section 3-5 to determine absence of pipe strain. If pipe
strain exists, correct piping.

or add shims at the appropriate corners
and realign.
Unable to obtain vertical
alignment, angular or parallel
Base plate not leveled properly,
Probably tilted
Determine if center of baseplate should
be raised or lowered and correct by
evenly adding or removing shims at the
center of the baseplate.
