Drive carefully and slowly to the coupling jaw of the towbar.
Align bore of the front towing coupling of the CHALLENGER550 and coupling jaw of the tow-
bar.

Press brakes of CHALLENGER550 and keep pressed.
The CHALLENGER550 comes to a full stop.

Engage the parking brake.

Insert the bolts of the towing coupling.
Towbar coming loose!
If the towbar is not correctly locked into the coupling of the CHALLENGER550, the towbar can
become loose. The loose, swinging end of the towbar can hit persons.
The loose, swinging end of the towbar can kill or seriously injure persons.
Before starting to drive, make sure that the towbar is correctly secured to the coupling with
the bolt.
The preparations have now been made for "Push-back" driving mode.
Rolling CHALLENGER550!
The CHALLENGER550 can run over persons when starting to drive.
Running over persons can result in death or serious injuries.
Ensure that no persons are located between CHALLENGER550 and towbar.
Ensure that visual and radio contact is always maintained with the wing walker.
Jerky driving and sudden steering movements!
The aircraft nose gear can be damaged or the "shear pin" on the towbar broken because of jerky
driving and sudden steering movements.
Drive continuously and slowly.
Select the correct drive position in order to avoid too great a torque.
Steer continuously and avoid abrupt and non-constant steering movements.
Brake the train (CHALLENGER550-towbar-aircraft) in a continuous straight line.
Maintain constant visual and radio contact with the wing walker.
Maintain constant radio contact with the aircraft's pilot.
INFORMATION
In "Push-back" driving mode, drive only in manual mode and with driving gear (1 to 6) firmly
in place.
The maximum speed for the "Push-back" driving mode is
5 km/h
(3 mph)
