To reduce the risk of fire, if by any chance
you spill gasoline or oil on the tractor, wipe
it with a tow or cloth and remove any debris
contaminated with fuel from the tractor.
8 - Additional safety and operating
instructions
Warning!
Read the entire manual carefully and follow
the operating instructions before assembling
or operating the tractor. Keep this manual in
a safe place for future reference.
Be familiar with all tractor controls and their
proper operation. Learn how to stop and
disengage the mower deck blades quickly.
To prevent accidents involving contact with
blades or dropped objects, keep persons,
children and animals at least 30 meters away
from the tractor while it is in operation.
Always wear safety glasses when operating,
making adjustments or repairing. Large
garments with pendant parts, jewelry, long hair
and other objects can screw on moving parts.
Always be aware of which direction the lawn
outlet points. Never direct the exit to people or
animals. Never operate the tractor without the
side outlet or a properly installed lawn catcher.
The lack of side outlet or damage side can
make it easier to contact the blades, resulting
in serious injuries, as well as accidents related
to thrown objects.
Stop the blades when crossing flowerbeds,
cobblestone walkways, streets, tree roots,
roads, and when not mowing the lawn.
Mow lawn only during the day, or under
optimum artificial lighting.
Never operate or leave the engine running in
an enclosed or unventilated environment. The
exhaust gas contains carbon monoxide, an
odorless and lethal gas.
Frequently check the tightness of the bolts and
nuts and hold them in place to ensure that the
equipment is operating under safe conditions.
Visually inspect blades for damaged and/
or broken parts, excessive wear and dents.
Replace the blade only with an original blade.
Using non-original parts or in deviation from
the specifications may cause poor performance
and compromise the operator safety.
Never alter the safety devices, and check
them often to ensure that they are operating
properly. Many accidents are caused by lack
of proper maintenance.
Before cleaning, repairing, inspecting or
making any adjustments, make sure that the
blades and all moving parts are stationary.
Disconnect the spark plug cover and make
sure that it will not come into contact with the
spark plug, and remove the start key to prevent
accidental starting.
Avoid accumulation of lawn, leaves and other
debris in the machine. Clean up spills of oil or
fuel and remove any residues that have been
wetted with fuel. Wait until the machine cools
down before storing.
Before operating, check the height of tree
branches, tree roots, wires, cables, and other
objects that may twist with the operator,
knocking him/her down from the tractor,
causing injury.
If the machine hits a foreign object, stop and
turn it off immediately. Inspect and check
for damage. If necessary, repair the machine
before proceeding.
