INSPECTION OF CONVENTIONAL TYPE

Armature Coil
1. CHECK THAT COMMUTATOR IS NOT GROUNOED
Using an ohmmeter, chacko that there is no continuity bet·
ween the commutator and armature coil core.

2. CHECK COMMUTATOR FDA OPEN CIRCUIT
Using an ohmmeter. check for continuity betweeo

segments of the comml,ltator.
If
there;$ no continuity between any segment, replace the
armalure.

INSPECT COMMUTATOR FOR DIRT AND BURNT
SURFACES
If surface is dirty

burnt. correct with sandpaper
