Check the battery voltage.
Standard: 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, replace the battery before proceed-
ing.
2.
CHECK DTC (USING INTELLIGENT TESTER ll)
HINT:
Use the intelligent tester II to detect the output of DTC B2799
from the ECM. The outputs of the other codes are detected us-
ing SST.
(a)
Connect the intelligent tester II to the DLC3.
(b)
Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c)
Read the DTCs by following the directions on the tester’s
screen.
HINT:
Refer to the intelligent tester ll operator’s manual for further de-
tails.
3.
CHECK TRANSPONDER KEY ECU CODE
(NOT USING INTELLIGENT TESTER ll)
(a)
Using SST, connect terminal 8 (OPA) and 4 (CG) of the
DLC3.
(b)
Turn the ignition switch ON.
(c)
Read the code from the security indicator.
HINT:
S
If 2 or more codes are detected at the same time, the low-
est numbered code will be displayed first.
S
If no code appears, check the diagnostic circuit and the
security indicator circuit.
