Appendix A. Consumable supplies
Paper specifications
Attention:
Using an inferior grade of paper can affect print quality and the life of
printheads and the printer mechanism. See “Resources on the internet” on page
1-12 for information about 4610 OEM paper certifications.
Thermal paper
The paper used in the thermal receipt and summary journal stations must meet the
following requirements:

Printer reliability and performance are directly related to the quality of the supplies
used by our customers. The published parameters for printer performance are
established using supplies that meet the above specifications. Thermal paper with
any post processing such as (but not limited to) watermarks, coupons, or
advertisements printed on the front or back of the thermal paper are not covered by
Toshiba specifications, and
any printer problems that are caused by supplies
that do not meet Toshiba specifications may result in a billable service call
regardless of the existence of a service contract.
The paper must be wound with the printing side facing out and with the outer edge
glued to prevent unravelling. The paper should not be attached to the core in any
manner. There should be 1.5 to 2.1 m (5 to 7 ft) of red stripe at the end of the roll.
Papers that meet these criteria include
Appleton Optima POS
and
Seiko (Jujo)
