Playing a Disc
This section shows you the basics on how to play a disc.

CAUTION
• Keep your fingers well clear of the disc as it is spinning.
Neglecting to may cause serious personal injury.
• Be careful not to catch your fingers in the disc holder.
• Do not use a cracked, deformed, or repaired disc.

Turn on the power.
Press POWER ON ( ) on the main
unit.
Alternatively press POWER on the
remote control.
The player turns on and the POWER/CHG
indicator on the player illuminates in green.
When the player is turned on for the first time,
an initial set-up display appears. See “Initial
set-up” and make the proper settings before
proceeding to step 2.
Open the cover.
Press on the main unit.
Alternatively press OPEN on the
remote control.
Do not try to open the cover without using the
these buttons.
The cover is designed to stop at two positions.
Do not force the cover open further, as it may
cause damage to the player.
Set a disc.
Slide the rim under the
stopper.
Place a disc with the playback side down, and
push gently on the center of the disc to fix it to the
spindle.
Close the cover.
Press PUSH CLOSE on the left corner.
Preparations
• Make all connections and settings as necessary referring to
the connections chapter (
44
).
• When you want to view a disc on a connected TV or monitor,
turn on the equipment and select the video input connected
to the player.
• When you want to enjoy the sound of discs from an audio
system, turn the audio system on and select the input
connected to the player.
• If you use the supplied remote control, make sure that
batteries are loaded in it.
