Optional Devices
Optional devices can expand the computer’s capabilities and its
versatility. This chapter describes connection or installation of the
following types of devices:
Cards/memory
PC cards
Memory modules
Power devices
Additional battery pack
Additional AC adaptor
Battery charger
Peripheral devices
Parallel printer
External monitor
TV
PS/2 mouse
PS/2 keyboard
Security lock
PC cards
The computer is equipped with a PC card (PCMCIA) expansion slot that
can accommodate two 5 mm Type II cards or one 10.5 mm Type III card.
Any PC card that meets industry standards (manufactured by Toshiba or
other vendor) can be installed. The slots support 16-bit PC cards,
including PC Card 16’s multifunction card and CardBus PC cards.
CardBus supports the new standard of 32-bit PC Cards. The bus provides
superior performance for the greater demands of multimedia data
transmission.
