Placing the original(s) on the original glass
This section describes how to set an original on the original glass.
Originals are sent in the order they are placed on the original glass.
Do not place any heavy objects (4 kg/9 lb. or over) on the original glass and do not press on it with
force.
Breaking the glass could injure you.

Raise the original cover or ADF, and place the original with its face down.
Raise it at least 60 degrees to allow the original to be detected appropriately.
