4.7.3 Group setting change
G1IF4 converts four IEC103 signals for group setting indication into Group 1 to 4 for
IEC61850. The action of changing a setting group takes about 3 seconds to complete. Therefore,
following a group setting change command, it is recommended that the SAS should wait at least
3 seconds before requesting confirmation of the setting group.

4.7.4 DEADBAND setting of measurement value
In accordance with IEC103 measurands are transmitted every second, while in IEC61850 only
changes in value are reported. In order to avoid repeated transmissions due to insignificant
changes in value, a DEADBAND setting is provided. Data on the IEC61850 side is updated only
when the measurement value reported by IEC103 has changed by more than DEADBAND
setting.
