1.1 Functions and Characteristics of the EN655 Module
The Ethernet module EN655 is installed in the G2 I/O bus of the Unified
Controller nv series type1 light and is used to connect the controller to Ethernet.
The Unified Controller nv Series can communicate with other devices on the
Ethernet system via the EN655.
The EN655 can configure transmission paths with twisted pair cables.
■ Characteristics of the EN655 module
・ Openness
The EN655 module can support transmission speeds of 10M and 100M to
achieve the openness of Ethernet at the network level.
・ Supporting multiple Ethernet modules
The EN655 module can perform transmission request processing for
multiple Ethernet modules from the host side.
・ Communication service
Message transmission supports TCP, UDP, and IP.
・ Maximum number of modules installed
Up to 4 Ethernet modules (*1) can be supported per controller.
*1:Ethernet modules installed in the station bus such as the EN651A are
included.
・ Number of sockets supported
One EN655 module can support up to 8 sockets. However, this is limited by
the number of sockets on the controller side.
