Document Fax
uses the fax modem in the your machine connected on your network (LAN) for fax
communication.
Before using the
Document Fax
, it is necessary to activate the Fax Modem and to setup certain
parameters. Follow the steps below to setup the
Document Fax
.
Installation
Installation and Setup (For the Network Connected Models)

Confirm the following device settings.
Send Only System
settings:
Connection to the network
Set Internet parameters:
- IP Address
- Subnet Mask
- Default Gateway IP Address
- Relay XMT Password
Set Fax Parameters:
- Set the
Relay XMT Report
= Off (Fax Parameter No. 143. See the Operator's Manual for Facsimile and
Internet Fax/Email)
Send & Receive System
settings:
Connection to the network
Set Internet parameters:
- IP Address
- Subnet Mask
- Default Gateway IP Address
- Email Address
- Email Server Name/IP Address
- Relay XMT Password
Set Fax Parameters:
- Set the
Relay XMT Report
= Always (Fax Parameter No. 143. See the Operator's Manual for Facsimile and
Internet Fax/Email)
- Set the
Fax Forward
to Receive Email Account (Fax Parameter No. 054. See the Operator's Manual for
Facsimile and Internet Fax/Email)

Install the Document Management System.
Refer to the Installation section of this Operator's Manual.
Note:
The Document Fax is not installed automatically with the
TYPICAL
installation. Select
CUSTOM
installation and
check the Document Fax to be installed.
