PDF Security
PDF Security protects PDF files against unauthorized access and alteration. Using the PDF
Security options, a user is allowed to put restrictions on PDF access. He can set if a PDF file
can be printed or if somebody may copy or edit the text. He can also decide if the user has to
enter a password in order to view the file.
Encryption Level
Defines the level of encryption used.
None
- no encryption level set.
Low
(40bit) - uses 40-bit encryption.
High
(128bit) - uses 128-bit encryption
Owner Password
This type of password will grant users unlimited access to the document such as editing,
copying, printing and changing of PDF rights/permissions. This is case sensitive.
NOTE:
If you wish to edit the document, use PDF editor. PDF reader can only read/open the
document.
User Password
This type of password will only allow users to open/read the document. This is case sensitive.
Enable
As part of the e-BRIDGE Re-Rite security, PDF functions are disabled by default in order to
protect highly sensitive data from being compromised. This feature allows you to enable these
restrictions on your document.
The following functions can be enabled by ticking the checkbox beside it.
Add Comment
Document Assembly
Content Copy
Form Fields
Document Editing
Content Extraction
