Purging Air from the
Hydraulic System
Note:
You must purge air from the hydraulic system
when you remove any hydraulic components,
including oil filter, or disconnect any hydraulic lines.
1. Open the drive release valves at each hydraulic
pump (
Figure 102 ).

2. Raise the back of the machine until both drive
wheels are off the ground, and support the
machine with jack stands.
3. Start engine and move throttle control ahead to
full throttle position.
4. Move the traction-control levers to the
FORWARD
and
REVERSE
positions several times position.
5. Move the traction-control levers to the
NEUTRAL
position, and shut off the engine.
6. Lower the machine and remove the jack stands.
7. Close the drive release valves at each hydraulic
pump (
Figure 102 ).
8. Check the hydraulic fluid level, start the engine,
and run it at full throttle for several minutes, refer
to
Checking the Hydraulic Fluid Level (page 70) .
9. Shut off the engine, and Install the knee pad
refer to
Installing the Knee Pad (page 52) .
Checking the Hydraulic
System Fittings
Service Interval: Every 40 hours
Check the hydraulic hoses and fittings for leaks,
damage, or wear. Repair any leaking, damaged, or
worn hydraulic components.
