Checking the Cooling System
Service Interval:
Before each use or daily
CAUTION
If the engine has been running, the pressurized, hot
coolant can escape and cause burns.
•
Do not open the radiator cap when the engine
is running.
•
Use a rag when opening the radiator cap, and
open the cap slowly to allow steam to escape.
The cooling system is filled with a 50/50 solution of water
and permanent ethylene glycol antifreeze.
1.
Clean debris off the screen, oil cooler, and front of
the radiator daily and more often if conditions are
extremely dusty and dirty. Refer to
from the Cooling System (page 45)
.
2.
Check the level of the coolant in the expansion tank
(
).
Note:
When cold, the coolant level should be at the
lower mark on the side of the tank.
