Pull the parking brake handle to engage the
parking brake (
).

Push the parking brake handle to disengage the
parking brake.
Starting the Engine
Important:
Do not engage starter for more than 5
seconds at a time. If the engine fails to start, wait
15 seconds between attempts. Failure to follow
these instructions can burn out the starter motor.
Note:
You may need multiple attempts to start the
engine the first time after adding fuel to an empty fuel
system.
1.
Move the motion-control bars to the N
EUTRAL
position.
2.
Engage the parking brake.
3.
Move the throttle midway between the S
LOW
and F
AST
positions (
).

If the engine is cold, pull the choke control to the

Note:
When operating the machine in
temperatures less than 0°C (32°F) allow the
engine time to warm up before using the
machine. This prevents damage to the hydraulic
system.
5.
Rotate the ignition key to the S
TART
position
(
).
Note:
To prevent overheating the starter
motor, do not engage the starter longer than
10 seconds. After continuous cranking the
starter for 10 seconds, wait 60 seconds before
engaging the starter motor again.
6.
When the engine starts, rotate the key to the
R
UN
position (
).
7.
Move the throttle to the S
LOW
position, and allow
the engine to warm.
8.
As the engine warms up, push the choke control
toward the O
FF
position (
