3-14
Maintenance
NOTE:
Lift and properly support either
end of boom as necessary to create
clearance between stop plate and boom
support plate before unbolting stop plates
and adjusting shims.
5.
Lift and properly support one end of
boom 6"-14" from current position.
6.
The spring stop plate nearest the
boom end being lifted should no
longer be touching the boom
support. If necessary, remove shims
until a small amount of clearance is
achieved.
7.
Repeat steps 5 and 6 for other end
of boom.
8.
Return boom to level condition and
verify that both stop plates are
touching the boom support. Repeat
steps 4 through 7 if necessary.
NOTE:
The
optimum
adjustment is
achieved when both stop plates are fully
contacting boom support when level
(step 4), but clearance is obtained with a
minimum
amount of lift distance at tip
of boom.
80’/90’ booms after S/N B21100200
and all 60’/110’/120’/132’ booms
1.
Perform steps 1-3 from previous
procedure.
2.
Loosen stop bolt lock nuts.
3.
Adjust both stop bolts until clearance
exists between bolt heads and boom
support. Readjust stop bolts until bolt
head begins to touch boom support.
4.
Tighten locknuts.
Boom Twin Link Suspension
Adjustment
80’/90’ booms before S/N B21100200
The side-to-side sway feature, (Twin
Link suspension) of the boom must be
adjusted correctly to maximize boom
stability during operation.
1.
Park sprayer on level surface.
2.
Fully extend and lower boom. Use
tilt controls to adjust both wings as
straight as possible with each other
and the center section.
3.
Place a level on lower horizontal
tube of boom center section. Raise
and support either end of boom as
necessary to achieve level condition.
4.
Verify that both stop plates are
touching their corresponding contact
areas on boom support. If
necessary, add a shim above one or
both
stop plates to remove all
clearance with boom support.
