AC Voltmeter
Monitor the available AC voltage periodically,
in order to detect abnormal operating condi-
tions early. To check the voltage, consult the
voltmeter on the AC distribution panel or the
helm multi-function display (MFD). The volt
-
meter will indicate the current voltage of the
power source (shore power or generator)
and the load currently being applied to that
source. If the voltage being supplied while
using the 120V-30A connection is lower than
105V or higher than 130V, discontinue use
and correct the problem as soon as possible.
AC Main Breakers
The
shore power (SHOREPOWER
) and gen-
erator (
AUX POWER UNIT)
main breakers
protect the AC distribution system. These
breakers are very sensitive. The resulting
power surge that occurs when connecting
the dockside cord or starting the generator
may cause the main breaker to trip. To avoid
this surge, always turn the breakers to the
OFF position before plugging or unplugging
the shore power cord or starting or stopping
the generator.
There are a number of breakers on the AC
distribution panel, which need to be switched
ON for their corresponding components to
operate:
Air Cond 1, 2, and 3 breakers

tioning units. The AIR COND PUMP breaker
must be turned ON to operate the air condi-
tioning. See section 6, Ventilation Systems,
for climate control panel locations. Refer to
the air conditioner user manual for additional
information.
Air Cond Pump
: Supplies electrical current
to the air conditioner pump. This breaker
must be ON in order to use the air condition-
ing unit(s).
Gyro Stabilizer (optional):
The Seakeeper
Gyro stabilizer, if installed.
Outlets:
Supply electrical current to the
boat’s electrical outlets and protect against
short circuits and overloads. AC electrical out
-
lets are provided with ground fault interrupt-
ers (GFI) to protect against electric shock. To
ensure proper operation, these outlets should
be tested periodically by pressing the test/
reset buttons in the center of the face plate.
The GFI outlets themselves do not protect
against short circuits and overloads.
NOTE:
GFI outlets do not provide 100% protection
from electric shock. Even though ground fault
interrupters provide protection by reducing
exposure time from line to ground shock haz-
ards, it is still possible to receive an electric
shock from defective appliances or power
tools and misused electrical equipment.
Cockpit Refrig
: Supplies electrical current to
the mid-cockpit galley refrigerator(s).
AC distribution panel (typical)
Deck Grill
: Supplies electrical current to the
mid-cockpit galley grill. This breaker should
ONLY be on when the grill is being used. See
the grill owner’s manual for more information.
Ice Maker (optional)
: Supplies electrical cur-
rent to the cockpit ice maker, if installed.
Battery Charger
: These switches supply
power to the battery chargers, which main-
tain the charge on the engine and house
batteries. These breakers should ALWAYS
be ON when shore power is connected
or the generator is operating. The battery
