Drive Chain
ADJUSTMENT
1. Hold the rear axle shaft and loosen the rear axle nut.
2. Loosen the lock nuts on both sides of the swingarm.
3. Turn both the right and left chain adjusters equally to increase or de-
crease chain slack.
4. After adjusting, be sure the same adjuster index marks align with the
adjuster block on both sides of the swingarm.
5. Torque the rear axle nut to: 47 lbf·ft (64 N·m , 6.5 kgf·m)
6. Recheck drive chain slack.
7. Check rear brake pedal freeplay and adjust as necessary. Freeplay is af-
fected when repositioning the rear wheel to adjust\drive chain slack.
If a torque wrench is not used for this installation, see your
Certified Motor-
cycle Mechanic
as soon as possible to verify proper assembly.
