The Importance of your Maintenance
Remember, proper maintenance is the owner’s responsibility.
Be sure to inspect your motorcycle before each ride and follow the
Maintenance Schedule in this section.
Note to Parents:
As a parent, it’s up to you to make sure that this motorcycle
is properly maintained and kept in saf e operating condition. For
youngsters, learning how to take care of a motorcycle and perform
basic maintenance can be an important part of their riding
experience. However, if you allow a youngster to perform or assist
in any maintenance task, such as f illing the tank with gasoline, you
should provide close supervision to make sure that it is performed safely.
MAINTENANCE SAFETY
The maintenance section includes instructions on how to perform
some important maintenance tasks. Some of the most important
safety precautions follow. However, we cannot warn you of every
conceivable hazard that can arise in performing maintenance.
Only you can decide whether or not you should perform a
given task.
