•
Device Name
The name used to identify the fraction collector in the installation environment and in the
Chromeleon client program. To control the fraction collector with the existing control
panels, accept the default name. If you enter a different name, you may have to re-link the
controls on the control panels and edit the device name in the program files.
•
Serial Communication
In the
Port
list, select the serial interface port to which the fraction collector is connected.
This is either the COM port on the Chromeleon computer to which the RS-232 serial cable
is connected, or, if a USB cable is used for the connection, the virtual COM port (USB
Seria Port) that was created during installation of the USB drivers (Windows automatically
allocates a number for the virtual COM port, for example, COM5; usually, this is the COM
port with the highest number). In addition, the current interface parameters are displayed.
The port selection list is unavailable when Chromeleon is in demo mode.
