funct ion t o prev ent t he risk of dat a exposur e. To act ivat e t his funct ion, t he
En cr y pt ion opt ion needs t o be enabled w hile t he RAI D is creat ed and
follow ed by a passw ord input for ident ificat ion. Also, an ext ernal w rit able
USB disk plugged int o any USB port on t he syst em is r equired t o sav e t he
passw ord you have ent ered w hile t he RAI D volum e is being cr eat ed. See t he
scr eenshot below for det ails.
Once t he Cr e a t e but t on has been pressed w it h t he En cr y pt ion checkbox
enabled, t he following m essage pop- up w ill appear for confirm at ion.
Aft er t h e RAI D volum e has been creat ed, y ou m ay r em ove t he USB disk unt il
t he next t im e t he sy st em boot s. The RAI D v olum e cann ot be m ount ed if t he
USB disk w it h t he encry pt ion key isn’t found in any sy st em USB port w hen t he
volum e is accessed. To act ivat e t he encr ypt ed v olum e, plug t he USB disk
cont aining t he encrypt ion key and int o any sy st em USB port .
N OTE
I n a m u lt iple RAI D configur at ion, one RAI D volu m e m ust be designat ed as t he
Mast er RAI D volu m e. The Mast er RAI D volu m e w ill st or e all inst alled m odu les. I f
t he Mast er RAI D is changed t o an ot her locat ion ( i.e. assignin g volu m e 2 t o be
t he Mast er RAI D v olu m e aft er volu m e 1 had been pr ev iously assigned) , t hen all
m odu les m ust be r ein st alled. I n addit ion, all syst em folder s t hat wer e cont ained
on t he Mast er RAI D volu m e w ill be inv isible. Reassign ing t h is volu m e t o be t he
Mast er RAI D w ill m ake t hese folder s v isible again.
