Dead t im e The dead ping dir ect ive is used t o specify how quickly Hear t beat
should decide t hat a ping node in a clust er is dead. Set t ing t his
value t oo low will cause t he syst em t o falsely declar e t he ping
node dead. Set t ing it t oo high will delay det ect ion of
com m unicat ion failur e.
This feat ur e has been r eplaced by t he m or e flexible ping
r esour ce agent in Pacem ak er , and should no longer be used.
War ning t im e The war n t im e dir ect ive is used t o specify how quickly Hear t beat
should issue a " lat e hear t beat " war ning.

declar e a clust er node dead when Hear t beat is fir st st ar t ed. This
par am et er gener ally needs t o be set t o a higher value, because
exper ience suggest s t hat it som et im es t akes oper at ing syst em s
m any seconds for t heir com m unicat ion syst em s befor e t hey
oper at e cor r ect ly.

f or it s UDP int ra-cl ust er communicat ion. The def ault value f or
t his paramet er is UDP 694 port .
