Aut o Fail Back:
In l egacy Heart beat clust er s, t he aut o f ailback opt ion would
det ermine whet her a resource woul d aut omat ical ly f ail back t o
it s "Act ive" node, or remai n on what ever node is serving it unt i l
t hat node f ails, or an admi nist rat or int ervenes. The possible
values f or aut o f ail back were:
on - enable aut omat ic f ailbacks
of f - disable aut omat ic f ail back
When aut o failback is off ( default ) : Aft er t h e original
act ive serv er is dam aged and t hen r et urned t o a healt hy
st at e, t h e original st andby serv er w ill rem ain act ive and
t he original act ive ser ver w ill go int o st andby m ode. Th e
serv er s w ill exchange r oles.
When aut o failback is on : Aft er t he original act ive serv er is
dam aged and t hen ret ur ned t o a healt hy st at e, t he original
st andby serv er w ill go back int o st andby m ode and t he
original act ive serv er w ill becom e act ive again. The
serv er s r et urn t o t heir original roles.
Wit h or w it hout aut o failback, synch ronizat ion w ill begin
im m ediat ely wit hout a break in service w hen t he dam aged
serv er r et urns. The r oles described abov e are assum ed
im m ediat ely and do not need t o w ait for synchr onizat ion.
The virt ual I P w ill alw ays be m apped t o t he cu rr ent act ive
serv er.
