Maintenance
Storing the appliance
If the appliance needs to be stored for a prolonged period of
time (e.g. over winter):
1. Make sure the appliance has cooled down. Carefully clean
the appliance.
2. The appliance can be stored in a dry location indoors (e.g.
garage or cellar).
3. Cover the appliance.
When removing the appliance from storage, check the appli-
ance for rust and other damage.
Guarantee
This Tenneker item has been produced according to the most up-
to-date production methods and is subject to permanent, strict
quality assurance.
HORNBACH-Baumarkt-AG, Hornbachstraße 11, 76879 Bornheim/
Germany (hereinafter referred to as Issuer) guarantees the qual-
ity of the Tenneker charcoal and gas barbeques according to the
following terms and conditions.
1. Warranty Period
The warranty period is
10 years
. The warranty period starts on
the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt or invoice
in order to be able to furnish evidence of the date of purchase.
2. Warranty Scope
The warranty applies exclusively to production or material faults
as well as covers and fire bowls that have rusted through.
The warranty shall not apply to defects that are a consequence
of
•
incorrect assembly or connection
•
improper handling or use
•
improper or insu
ffi
cient maintenance or repairs
•
violent damage
•
use of spare parts that are not genuine parts
•
unintended chemical, electrical or electronic influences
Furthermore, the warranty shall not include damage to wearing
parts caused by normal wear. The warranty shall also exclude
associated or consequential damage.
3. Warranty services
During the warranty period the Issuer shall test the faulty item
to determine whether or not it qualifies for warranty. In the event
that the item qualifies for warranty, the Issuer shall repair the
item or replace it free of charge for the warrantee. If the item is
no longer available for delivery at the time of the warranty case,
the Issuer shall be permitted to replace the item with a similar
product. The Issuer shall assume ownership of the replaced item
or parts thereof.
Warranty services (repair or replacement) do not extend the
warranty period. The warranty period shall also not restart upon
providing warranty services.
4. Warranty Claims
Please contact the nearest HORNBACH-Baumarkt branch to
claim the warranty. You can find it at www.hornbach.de. Or use
the following Email address “[email protected]” to contact
the Issuer.
Warranty claims will only be accepted if the original receipt or
invoice is produced.
5. Statutory Rights
The warranty does not restrict your statutory rights regarding
warranty and product liability.
Curing the grill
Curing your grill will minimize damage to the exterior finish
as well as rid the grill of paint odour that can impart unnatu-
ral flavours to the first meal. Cure the grill periodically to
protect it from corrosion.
1. Lightly coat all interior surfaces with vegetable oil. Do not
coat the charcoal grate and ash door.
2. Place max. 1.2
kg of charcoal on the charcoal grate or in a
charcoal chimney starter.
3. Light the charcoal and wait until it is burning strong.
4. Spread the coals evenly on the charcoal grate.
5. With lid open, allow the charcoal to burn until it is covered
with ash (approx. 20
min.)
6. With coals burning strong, close the lid. Allow the tem-
perature to reach 100
°C on the heat indicator. Maintain
this temperature for 2
hours.
7. Increase the temperature to 200
°C. This can be achieved
by adding more charcoal and/or wood. See section ‘Add-
ing charcoal’. Maintain this temperature for 1
hour then
allow unit to cool completely.
