BELTS AND CHAINS
ENGINE BELT
The engine belt is driven by the engine crankshaft
pulley and drives the water pump and alternator
pulleys. Proper belt tension is 13 mm (0.50 in)
from a force of 4 to 5 kg (8 to 10 lb) applied at the
mid-point of the longest span.
Check and adjust the belt tension every 100 hours
of operation.
WARNING: Moving belt and fan. Keep
away.
ACCESSORY PUMP BELT
The accessory pump belt is driven by the engine
crankshaft pulley and drives the accessory pump.
WARNING: Moving belt and fan. Keep
away.
Check and adjust the belt tension every 100 hours
of operation.
Accessory pump belt adjustment is made by
turning the bolt on top of the tension spring. The
tension spring is located at the front of the engine
compartment, near the accessory pump belt
sheave. The accessory pump belt is at the proper
tension when the tension spring is compressed to
3.81 cm
0.0076 mm (1.5 in
0.030 in). When
adjusting the accessory pump belt tension,
measure only the spring and not the washers at
either end.
