Changing Gauge and Temperature

Press

1.  Use the up (

) arrow keys to adjust 

temperature displayed at the top in the center.

2.  Once the correct temperature is displayed, press 

F2 Setup

 again.

3.  Use the arrow keys to modify the wire gauge 

displayed at the top right.

4. Press 

F2 Setup

 to exit.

The display now shows the resistance to the conductor 

connected to the yellow lead.
The gauge and temperature must also be set for the 

yellow lead for distance measurement. Press

Verification

The Sidekick

®

 Plus test set automatically verifies that 

the previous measurements agree with each other. It 

posts the result in the upper right corner.
• Verify Good:  Distance-to-fault plus the fault-to-strap 

equals the distance to strap.

• Verify Bad:  Calculation was more than ±0.7% off.
• Verify Invalid:  Verification is not possible in 3-wire 

mode.
