C Operation
Upon power up, the module acts as a master transmitter and a slave receiver (multi-master mode)
on the second port.
When used in I
2
C mode, external pull-ups in the range of 1K to 2.2K to a 1.8V to 3.6V power
supply are required on the RX and TX lines.
The default configuration is Multi-master. This can be changed to slave mode using an OSP
command MID 178, SID 1.
Clock rates of 100 and 400 kbps are supported.
The operation of the I
2
C with a master transmit and slave receive resembles a UART operation,
where both the module and the host can independently freely transmit. It is possible to enable
the master transmit and slave receive at the same time, as the I
2
C bus allows for contention
resolution between module and host vying for the bus.
