RM-16 Module
There are 16 onboard relay outputs (with the addition of the RM-16 Module) in the CRU that can be used in
the same manner as the Transmitter relay outputs. The relay outputs are located on the 2 DB-25F connectors
on the back of the unit labeled Relay 1-8 and Relay 9-16. These relay outputs are setup identically to the
Transmitter relay outputs. Follow the same standard alarm system practices in wiring these relay outputs. It
will be necessary to solder wires onto the mating DB-25 connectors and assemble the provided shells. See
Table 6 for DB-25 signal definition.
Using Relays for Pan/Tilt/Zoom Control
The Relays can be used for discreet cameras and PTZ drives to control the functions Pan, Tilt, Zoom, and
Focus or Iris. It is recommended to always use Relays 1-8 for Camera 1, Relays 9-16 for Camera 2, etc. In
addition, it is recommended to make the following Relay to Function assignments as follows:
Pan Left:
Relay 8 or 16
Zoom In:
Relay 4 or 12
Pan Right:
Relay 7 or 15
Zoom Out:
Relay 3 or 11
Tilt Up:
Relay 6 or 14
Focus In:
Relay 2 or 10
Tilt Down:
Relay 5 or 13
Focus Out:
Relay 1 or 9
Each Camera and PTZ unit will have a unique configuration. Use Table 6 as a guideline in connecting each
device. Do not exceed the rating of 24 VDC @ 1 amp for each relay.
