CONTROLS, CONNECTORS, AND INDICATORS
This section o f the manual w ill familiarize the operator
w ith the location and function o f instrument controls,
connectors, and indicators.
POWER AND DISPLAY
Refer to Figure 3 fo r location o f items 1 through 8.

POWER Switch—Turns instrument power on and o ff.
Press in for ON; press again fo r OFF.
( T ) FOCUS
Control—Adjusts
fo r
optimum
display
definition.
( T ) ASTIG C ontrol—Screwdriver control used in con
junction w ith the FOCUS control to obtain a well-
defined display over the entire graticule area. It does
not require readjustment during normal operation
o f the instrument.
( T ) INTEN C ontrol—Determines the brightness o f the crt
display (has no effect when BEAM FIND switch is
pressed in).
( T ) BEAM FIND Switch—When held in, compresses the
display to w ithin the graticule area and provides a
visible viewing intensity to aid in locating off-screen
displays.
( T ) TRACE ROTATION C ontrol—Screwdriver control
used to align the crt trace w ith the horizontal grati
cule lines.
Internal Graticule—Eliminates parallax viewing error
between the trace and graticule lines. Rise-time
amplitude measurement points are indicated at the
left edge o f the graticule.
( T ) SERIALand Mod Slots—TheS E R IA LsIot is imprinted
w ith the instrument's serial number. The Mod slot
contains the option number that has been installed in
the instrument.
