Basic  Applications

F req u en cy  M ea s u re m e n t

A  frequency  measurement  is  made  using  the  same  method  as  a  period 
measurement;  the  difference  is  that  the  1/TIME  measurement  mode  is 
selected  instead of  TIME.  The  measurement  value  is displayed in frequency 
units.  When  the  full  period  is  defined  by  positioning  the  cursors,  the  fre­
quency  of  the  signal  is  displayed.  Use  the  same  front  panel  setup  used  for 

time-difference  measurement  as  a  guideline  for  making  a  frequency 
measurement  with  cursors  (see  Figure  5-3).
