Performance Check Procedure—2213 Service
EXTERNAL Z-AXIS AND PROBE ADJUST
Equipment Required (see Table 4-1):
Leveled Sine-Wave Generator (Item 2)
BNC T-Connector (Item 8)
Two 50-£2 BNC Cables (Item 4)
P6120 Probe (provided w ith instrument)

1. Check EXT Z -A X IS Operation
a. Connect the leveled sine-wave generator o utput via
a T-connector and two 50-£2 cables to the EXT Z-AXIS
INPUT connector on the rear panel and to the CH 1 OR X
input connector.

b. Adjust the generator controls to produce a 5-volt,
50 kHz display.

c. CHECK—For noticeable intensity modulation. The
positive part o f the sine wave should be o f lower intensity
than the negative part.
d. Disconnect the test setup.
2. Check PROBE ADJUST Operation
a. Set:
CH 1 VO LTS/D IV
10 mV
SEC/DIV
0.5 ms
b. Connect the P6120 Probe to the CH 1 OR X input
connector and insert the probe tip into the PROBE
ADJUST jack on the instrument fro n t panel. If necessary,
adjust the probe compensation fo r a flat-topped square-
wave display.
c. CHECK—Display is 5 divisions ±1 division (4 to 6
divisions).
d. Disconnect the test setup.
